Legends of Tomorrow Adds More Returning Guest Stars To 100th Episode

Earlier this month, word broke that Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold/Leonard Snart will return to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow for the 100th episode. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Via EW, the producers of Legends of Tomorrow have revealed that several returning guest stars will also be back for the episode.

Original season 1 stars Arthur Darvill, Victor Garber, Franz Drameh, and Brandon Routh are all confirmed to return. Darvill portrayed the first leader of the Legends, Rip Hunter, while Dr. Martin Stein (Garber) and Jefferson “Jax” Jackson were the two halves of Firestorm. Hentschel was only on the first season as Hawkman, while Routh had a multiple season run as Ray Palmer/The Atom. Additionally, Courtney Ford will reprise her role as Nora Darhk.

EW also revealed that series star Caity Lotz directed the 100th episode, which will air on October 27.  The story will revolve around Amy Pemberton’s Gideon, the Waverider’s A.I. who is now in a human body. When the human incarnation of Gideon suffers a meltdown, Astra (Olivia Swann) and Spooner (Lisseth Chavez) enter her mind and witness previously unseen moments with former members of the Waverider’s crew.

“We are exploring the memories of who we consider the O-est of the OGs, Gideon, who is the Legend before the Legends,” said co-showrunner Keto Shimizu. “As we explore these memories, we get to see familiar faces from all the different iterations of the Legends that she has experienced through her steadfast watch as the ship mother.”

The other co-showrunner, Phil Klemmer, noted that the guest cast was lined up before the episode was written. Klemmer also admitted that there were a few former cast members that they couldn’t get.

“We didn’t intend for it to be quite as expansive as it was, but it was just like we got one — we would’ve loved to have Hawkgirl and Heat Wave and Vandal Savage — [and] it made us greedy,” said Klemmer.

Legends of Tomorrow season 7 will premiere on October 13.
