Live-action Star Wars fans who never checked out the animated shows are getting plenty of reasons to go play catch up these days. One by one, Dave Filoni has slowly been bringing the animated faves into live-action via the adventures of Din Djarin and Boba Fett. The Mandalorian wowed viewers when it delivered Bo-Katan Kryze and Ahsoka Tano in live-action for the first time. Now, in The Book of Boba Fett, bounty-hunting bad guy Cad Bane has shown up. And of course he has his own poster; surely just the start of much, much more licensed merchandise.
Animated series fans may remember the Duros bounty hunter most recently from The Bad Batch. In that show, set a couple decades earlier than The Mandalorian, Bane crossed paths with a young Fennec Shand in his attempts to capture Boba Fett’s cloned sister Omega. Fett, as yet, does not seem to know about his genetic sibling, and the current series seems unlikely to go there in the last remaining episode. But Filoni never forgets a storyline.
And now Bane has shown up on The Book of Boba Fett on behalf of the Pyke Syndicate. And considering he has far outlived most Star Wars villains, he’s not to be taken lightly.
What do you think Bane will do next? Let us know in comments!
