The Man Who Fell To Earth Trailer Brings New Hope For Humanity

Just a few weeks after Bill Nighy joined the cast of Showtime’s The Man Who Fell To Earth series as Thomas Jerome Newton, we already have our first look at the actor stepping into the role made famous by David Bowie in 1976. In fact, the series is coming a lot sooner than many expected. Showtime has premiered the first trailer for its upcoming continuation of author Walter Tevis’ original novel, which picks up 40 years after Thomas’ story left off.

The trailer introduces us to Naomie Harris as Justin Falls, a down-on-her-luck mother struggling to make ends meet. But everything changes when she encounters Faraday (Chiwetel Ejiofor), an alien from a dying world who arrives on Earth not only to prevent his own planet’s demise, but also to keep Earth from suffering a similar fate. Recognizing Justin’s background as a scientist, Faraday asks her to help him complete his mission. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be easy. Along the way, the pair find themselves pursued by a host of government operatives. But they also get an assist from Nighy’s Thomas, who has been stuck on Earth ever since he failed to save his own world.
