In less than two weeks, Moon Knight will officially join the ranks of the MCU and push the franchise into new depths of psychological horror. The title character’s struggles with dissociative identity disorder already makes for a tense viewing experience. But sometimes, you just need a good old-fashioned monster to keep audiences on their toes. Ahead of the series’ debut, Marvel has released a Moon Knight clip that introduces us the terrifying vision Khonshu.
The scene finds Oscar Isaac’s Steven Grant inside an elevator that opens its doors onto a dark hallway. As if the pitch darkness wasn’t scary enough, Steven can’t help but cower in fear when the mummified silhouette of the Egyptian moon god suddenly materializes and begins charging toward him. But by the time the figure reaches the elevator doors, a kindly old woman appears instead. And she seems to believe that Steven is the real threat.
