Norman Reedus Marks The Walking Dead’s Last Day of Filming

After 12 years, Daryl Dixon’s journey on The Walking Dead is coming to a (temporary) end. On the series’ last day of filming, director and executive producer Greg Nicotero shared a new video on Instagram commemorating the occasion with Norman Reedus.

In the video, Reedus and Nicotero’s friendship is on full display as they huddle together before tackling the show’s final scenes. Nicotero points out how long their hair has gotten since the series began in 2010, but Reedus can’t even seem to process what’s happening. You can check out their exchange below.

Daryl never actually appeared in Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore’s original Walking Dead comic book series. But this didn’t stop him from becoming the TV show’s breakout character. And thiat’s probably the main reason why Reedus (alongside Carol actress Melissa McBride) stayed one of the show’s longest-tenured cast members. His popularity even inspired a loyal contingent of fans to don shirts that said “If Daryl dies, we riot.” But luckily, Daryl isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Reedus and McBride are also gearing up to headline their own spinoff series after The Walking Dead ends its run.

AMC still hasn’t set an airdate for The Walking Dead’s series finale. However, the show’s next episode will air this Sunday, April 3.

Are you sad to hear that today was the show’s last day of filming? Let us know in the comment section below!
