Will Arnett is Voicing Sweet Tooth in Peacock’s Twisted Metal Series

Looks like being an executive producer on Peacock’s Twisted Metal adaptation wasn’t enough for Will Arnett. After weeks of speculation, he’s officially lending his voice to the franchise’s most recognizable character. Deadline confirms that Arnett is voicing the deadly racer known as Sweet Tooth in the upcoming live-action series.

Sweet Tooth has been the face of the Twisted Metal franchise ever since the original video game hit stores in 1995. The TV show describes him as “a hilarious and terrifying hulk of a man, who is as emotional as he is cunning. A lover of chaos, this majestic rage-filled killer dons an ever-smiling clown mask and uses ‘Lost Vegas’ as his own personal kill-ground, all while he drives his infamous doomsday ice cream truck.”

Since Arnett is only providing the voice, it’s unclear how the series plans to handle Sweet Tooth’s physical appearance in the series. But it seems likely that the producers will cast a muscle-bound actor to match the character’s towering frame from the video games. Anthony Mackie is headlining Twisted Metal as John Doe, a delivery driver who gets swept up in the titular vehicular combat competition. Other cast members include Stephanie Beatriz as Quiet, Thomas Haden Church as Agent Stone, and Neve Campbell as Raven.

Arnett was actually a key player in bringing Twisted Metal to the small screen. He and Marc Forman secured the rights to the games through their Electric Avenue banner and developed the show alongside PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan. Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai) is showrunning the series, which is based on an original take by Deadpool scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Peacock hasn’t announced a release date for Twisted Metal.
