Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2

Obi-Wan Kenobi Director on Possible Season 2: ‘Never Say Never’

Obi-Wan Kenobi director Deborah Chow has given a more hopeful update about a potential Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2.

Will there be an Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2?

On Deadline’s Crew Call Podcast, Chow was asked about if there could possibly be another season of the Disney+ series at some point. While she stated that it was conceived as a limited series, that specific timeframe in the Star Wars universe is quite open.

“This was conceived as a limited series; it is closed,” Chow stated, followed by, “there’s 10 more years before New Hope, so never say never.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat: the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker. Skywalker turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader, and began an intergalactic reign of fascism under Palpatine.

The drama featured the return of Ewan McGregor to the Star Wars universe, as he reprised his iconic role as the titular Jedi master. McGregor famously portrayed the role — originated by Alec Guinness — in George Lucas’ prequel trilogy. It also featured the return of fellow Star War alums Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars, and Bonnie Piesse as Beru Lars.
