Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again Will Resume Filming in the Coming Days

Daredevil: Born Again is resuming production in the coming days.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again will resume filming after production was delayed last year due to the Hollywood strikes.

“We’re days away from restarting Daredevil, so that’s that’s we’re about to plunge into a lot of work,” D’Onofrio said. “We’re shooting in New York, in the studio and on locations here. Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Chelsea. Stuff like that.”

He added, “We’re pretty excited. These scripts are great. We’ve got two great directors, Charlie [Cox] and I, we talk. We speak every day, and are working on stuff every day. I feel like I am excited, like when you’re about to start a new job that you know is going to be tons of work. You know, so you’re like, super excited, and like, ‘Oh here we go. Here we go.’”

What do we know about Daredevil: Born Again?

Initially announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Daredevil: Born Again will see Cox and D’Onfrio reprise their roles from the Netflix series as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Fisk.

The series was originally intended to premiere in spring 2024; however, it was delayed because of the Hollywood strikes. Upon reviewing the footage that was shot prior to the strikes, Marvel decided to take the series in a different direction and parted ways with showrunners Chris Ord and Matt Corman.

Dario Scardapane now serves as the showrunner for Daredevil: Born Again, while Moon Knight’s Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead were both tapped to direct as lead directors.

The series will also see Jon Bernthal reprise his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher. Additional cast members include Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Sandrine Holt (who is taking over the role of Vanessa Fisk from Ayelet Zurer), Nikki M. James, Genneya Walton, Clark Johnson, Arty Froushan, and Zabryna Guevara.

Additionally, Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson are both reportedly set to reprise their roles as Karen Page and Franklin “Foggy” Nelson in Daredevil: Born Again.

Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ in 2025.
