X-Men ’97 Trailer Previews Marvel Animated Series, Release Date and Voice Cast Announced

The first trailer for X-Men ’97 has finally been revealed.

Marvel Entertainment shared the first trailer for X-Men ’97, a new animated series that serves as a revival and direct continuation of X-Men: The Animated Series.

X-Men ’97 comes from showrunner and head writer Bea BeMayo. The series, which features 10 all-new episodes, begins streaming on Disney+ on March 20, 2024.

What is X-Men ’97 about?

“X-Men ’97 revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future,” the synopsis for the series reads.

The voice cast for X-Men ’97 includes Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, JP Karliak as Morph, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, and Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler.

Episodes of X-Men ’97 are directed by Jake Castorena, Chase Conley, and Emi Yonemura. The series features music by The Newton Brothers, while DeMayo, Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Victoria Alonso serve as executive producers.

X-Men: The Animated Series aired from 1992 to 1997 on the Fox network. Marvel first officially revealed that the forthcoming revival series was in the works in November 2021. In December 2023, Marvel also announced a four-issue limited comic series, written by Steve Foxe and illustrated by Salva Espín, was launching on March 27, 2024, and will serve as a “companion story” to the television show.

X-Men ’97 premieres on Disney+ on March 20, 2024.
