Agatha: Darkhold Diaries reportedly finished reshoots in just one day.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming Agatha: Darkhold Diaries series was able to complete reshoots in just a single day. The article states that most Marvel Studios projects budget at least five days of reshoots, thus “fueling a sunny outlook around the show internally, according to sources associated with the series.”
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries is one of two Marvel series (not including X-Men ’97, which is not part of the MCU) that’s currently expected to come out in 2024, the other one being Echo, which was released in January 2024.
What do we know about Agatha: Darkhold Diaries?
Previously called Agatha: House of Harkness and Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries serves as a spin-off to 2021’s WandaVision. The series was created by Jac Schaeffer, who also serves as the head writer and lead director.
Kathryn Hahn reprises her role as the titular character in Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. The series’ cast also includes Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Debra Jo Rupp, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Kate Forbes, and Brian Brightman, among others.
Maria Dizzia and Okwui Okpokwasili have also been cast in the series in undisclosed roles.
“In the first episode, we see Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) finally break out of a spell she has been trapped in,” reads the description for the first entry in the series. “She can’t wait to go back to her old murderous ways only to find that she is powerless. The only way forward for her is to embark on a perilous quest to get her powers back with the help of an unlikely friend or two.”
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries doesn’t have a release date at this time; however, it’s expected to debut on Disney+ sometime in 2024 as part of Phase Five of the MCU.
