Steven Yeun Confirms Invincible Season 3 Is Already Being Worked On

Steven Yeun has confirmed that Invincible Season 3 is already being worked on.

Speaking with Collider, Yeun gave a brief update on the future of Prime Video’s Invincible. Noting that they’re hoping to not have as long of a break as there was between the first and second season, Yeun said that they’re currently “banking episodes” for Season 3.

“For us, we know that this big break was not fun,” he explained. “We’ve been working hard to get a lot of backlog done. We wanna time this animation thing appropriately. So, yeah, we’ve been working. We’re banking episodes, we know what’s going on.”

The first season of Invincible premiered on Prime Video in March 2021. Yeun voices Mark Grayson in the series, while the voice cast also includes Sandra Oh as Debbie Grayson, J. K. Simmons as Nolan Grayson/Omni-Man, Gillian Jacobs as Sam Wilkins/Atom Eve, Andrew Rannells as William Clockwell, Walton Goggins as Cecil Stedman, Zazie Beetz as Amber Bennett, and more.

What is Invincible Season 2 about?

Invincible was renewed for a second and third season in April 2021. Following a special Invincible: Atom Eve episode that dropped in July 2023, the first half of the second season, which consisted of four episodes, debuted in November 2023.

“Based on the groundbreaking comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the story revolves around 18-year-old Mark Grayson, who’s just like every other guy his age—except his father is (or was) the most powerful superhero on the planet. Still reeling from Nolan’s betrayal in Season 1, Mark struggles to rebuild his life as he faces a host of new threats, all while battling his greatest fear – that he might become his father without even knowing it,” the synopsis for Invincible Season 2 reads.

The second half of Invincible Season 2, which also consists of four episodes, premieres on March 14, 2024.
