Video: Jedi: Fallen Order Is EA’s Last Best Chance For Star Wars Games

In retrospect, it was probably a mistake for Disney to shut down LucasArts. LucasFilm’s internal gaming division put out some amazing titles, even outside of Star Wars. But the temptation of a multi-million dollar deal with EA proved to be too tempting. Unfortunately, EA hasn’t necessarily had the best interests of gamers at heart. The Star Wars: Battlefront series has been heavily criticized for embracing the “games as a service” model. And don’t get us started on loot boxes!

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has a chance to change all of that. It’s a single player Star Wars adventure in an era where gaming companies claim that no one wants to play solo anymore. Additionally, Fallen Order is supposedly leaving loot boxes behind. That could go a long way towards winning over some skeptical hearts and minds.
