WB Games Montréal Delays Gotham Knights To 2022

Gamers will have to wait another year to protect Gotham City as four different members of the Bat Family. WB Games Montréal and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced that Gotham Knights will instead hit stores sometime in 2022.

The studios confirmed the news on the game’s official Twitter account earlier today. Apparently, they need the extra time to “deliver the best possible experience for players.” You can check out their full statement below.

WB Games Montréal, the same developers behind 2013’s Batman: Arkham Origins, announced Gotham Knights during last summer’s DC FanDome event, along with its original 2021 release date. Sharing loose continuity with the Arkham series, the game picks up after Bruce Wayne is seemingly killed in an explosion. In his absence, four of his closest allies step up to rein in Gotham’s criminal element. Players will be able to control Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Red Hood, and each of the heroes will also come with their own unique fighting style. The Court of Owls will serve as the game’s primary antagonists. However, other villains like Mr. Freeze will appear as well.

2022 was already shaping to be an exciting year for DC games thanks to the upcoming release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. That game is being developed by Rocksteady and, unlike Gotham Knights, it actually does take place in the mainline Arkham universe.

Gotham Knights will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Microsoft Windows.
