Marvel’s Midnight Suns is bringing together several of Marvel’s traditional heroes alongside the darker supernatural characters. While Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Iron Man seem out of place in this story, Magik is going to fit right in. Although not originally apart of the comic book universe’s Midnight Sons, Illyana Rasputina is a fan-favorite character from both the New Mutants and the X-Men. And now Magik is taking the spotlight in the second animated prequel for the Midnight Suns game.
In this animated short, Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch is tasked with recruiting Magik by Sara/Caretaker. Despite Sara sharing physical characteristics with Agatha Harkness, this video also makes it clear that they are separate characters. And there’s even a cameo from a very well-known hero.

Although it’s not explicitly stated in the video, it’s likely that the dark forces coming after Magik were sent by Lilith. As seen in the first prequel short, Lilith and Sara were once part of a coven of witches in Salem. However, Lilith sold her soul to Chthon, the elder demon who created the Darkhold. Lilith only acted to save the life of her son. Regardless, Lilth’s actions have made her into the mother of all monsters.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will hit PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One X|S on December 2.
