Comic book creators making cameos in movies is almost a given these days–we’re always looking for Stan Lee in all of the Marvel films–and now we’ve got two more to look out for. IFC has revealed that Kick-Ass creators Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. will make an appearance in this summer’s Kick-Ass 2. Though the pair’s cameos were cut from the first film, it looks like they’ll be on the big screen, at least for a little bit, in the sequel.
Warning: Spoilers for Kick-Ass 2 ahead!
As you can see in the trailer for Kick-Ass 2 (watch it here), there’s a big fight between Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kick-Ass and Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s The Mother F*cker. In the source material, its the heroes against the villains in a giant brawl in the streets. In the film, Mark Millar will suit up with Kick-Ass and Justice Forever as a character while Romita will play a member of the super villains (called The Toxic Mega C%&*s in the comic). You’ll find photos of the two in their costumes below and be on the look out for them fighting on the big screen this summer!
Written and directed by Jeff Wadlow, Kick-Ass 2 will open August 16 and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Morris Chestnut, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison and Jim Carrey.
After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation.
