Marvel announced this afternoon that everyone’s favorite teleporter Nightcrawler will be getting his very own ongoing comic series starting this April. Legendary “X-Men” writer Chris Claremont, responsible for some of the most memorable X-Men stories like “Days of Future Past,” will pen the new series along with artist Todd Nauck.
“He’s smart, tough, creative [and] daring, with an instinctive understanding of people and situations,” Claremont said about Nightcrawler. “He has a wicked sense of humor and a devastating charm. As his body’s designed well outside the box of human experience, so too are his thought processes. His ‘normal’ is revolutionary to most people; throw him a problem, he’ll find a way to solve it that’s unique to him. He quite simply is the kind of man [who] others trust; to know him is to have faith in him.”
The new series will spin out of the current “Amazing X-Men” series and will feature Wolverine grooming Nightcrawler back into the post-Schism world where the X-Men are divided and Charles Xavier is dead.
