The Stranger Things Upside Down Whopper Will Take You Back to the ’80s

This summer promises a spectacular time travel back to the ’80s thanks to the third season of Stranger Things. Recently, the marketing department of Netflix’s sci-fi horror series has been giving its all to promote the third season properly. Next, they’re partnering with Burger King for an “Upside Down” Whopper. Naturally, the reference is to the alternate dimension called “the Upside Down,” which plays a key role in the Stranger Things story.

What distinguishes the new sandwich from a normal Whopper is mainly the fact that Burger King will…serve it upside-down. Check out the Stranger Things Upside Down Whopper teaser in the player below.

The limited-edition burger appears starting June 21 in the following cities: Miami, Houston, Boston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. There will only be 11 locations total, in a reference to Stranger Things protagonist Eleven. Additionally, the restaurants will have limited-edition ketchup packets and t-shirts inspired by Netflix’s sci-fi horror series.

Recently, Stranger Things concluded an agreement with Coca-Cola to bring the New Coke recipe back. New Coke debuted in 1985, the year in which Stranger Things 3 is also set. At that time, the marketing operation for the soda was a flop, but with nostalgia, both partners hope for a better outcome moving forward.

Stranger Things Season 3 will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix starting July 4. Will you go and try an Upside Down Whopper? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
