Michael Keaton’s Batman Costume Is Heading to Auction

Are there any fans out there that ever wanted to put on the Batman costume that Michael Keaton wore in the iconic 1989 film? Well, they’re about to get a golden opportunity.

The Prop Store has announced that it will be holding a two-day event at London’s BFI IMAX on September 30 and October 1. It will offer up 900 pieces of movie and TV memorabilia for auction. And among these items is the full body suit worn by the actor in Tim Burton’s comic adaptation. This is the full outfit, including cowl, the cape, the utility belt and the boots, as seen in the picture below.

According to the service, the suit should fetch a huge amount of cash. It estimates that it will sell for anywhere between $96,000 to $145,000 in U.S. dollars.

However, that’s not the only high value item that will be available for purchase. Samuel L. Jackson’s lightsaber from the Star Wars prequels will also be up for grabs, expected to receive around $120,000. In addition, William Wallace’s sword from Braveheart, James Bond’s PP7 Silenced pistol from Goldeneye, a ghost trap from Ghostbusters and a Tantive IV Stormtrooper helmet from Star Wars: A New Hope are also on hand. In fact, that last item is expected to be the largest draw, set to get between $145,000 to $218,000.

But there will be some items for those with less room to splurge. A Golden Ticket from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, for example, will sell for a lower price of $375. Several of the 900 items should also be around this price range.

For those interested in seeing these goods before the auction, the Prop Store will host an open exhibition to the public in London, free of charge. It’s a good chance to see them before someone grabs them and puts them into private collections.
