Dan Fogler Teases “Massive War” Coming in Fantastic Beasts 3

The Wizarding World is going to be turned upside-down in the third installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Next year, fans will get the chance to see the beginning of an epic war that will end with the highly anticipated Dumbledore-Grindelwald duel. Many Fantastic Beasts stars are pretty excited for the things to come. Notably Dan Fogler, who revealed some juicy details about the upcoming movie in a recent interview with Syfy Wire.

“I can say I read the script and the character development is really lovely and it’s very similar to the feel of the first movie, which I think is great,” he said. “It’s leading toward this massive war with the backdrop of World War II, so you can just imagine epic battle scenes are coming.”

In the Fantastic Beasts franchise, Fogler plays the No-Maj — or Muggle — Jacob Kowalski, who has to quickly learn that everything he knew about magic was wrong. The evolution of his character is what stimulates Fogler so much about working in a franchise.

“I love that character so much, man,” he continued. “It’s just great to be able to do franchises where you have sequels, or even The Walking Dead, where you get to keep on coming back for different seasons and the character grows. I get to come back and I get to play Jacob as if he has grown and been affected by the last two movies. For an actor, that’s just priceless.”

At the moment, the Fantastic Beasts 3 production is on hold due to the coronavirus emergency. The movie, though, should still apparate into theaters in November 2021. After New York and Paris, the story will follow Newt Scamander’s adventures in Brazil together with the local wizardry community.
