Fantastic Beasts 3 Production on Hiatus Due to Coronavirus

Not even magic could have saved Fantastic Beasts 3 production from being stopped due to the coronavirus emergency. In the last hours, Deadline has reported that the production of the third installment in the new wizardry saga won’t start in London any time soon. Many details about Fantastic Beasts 3 are still under wraps, but fans already know that the movie will explore wizarding cultures across the globe unknown so far. After New York and Paris, the story will follow Newt Scamander’s adventures in Brazil together with the local wizardry community.

David Yates’ upcoming movie originally planned to apparate into theaters in November 2021. Given the current situation, the possibility that its official release may be delayed is high. Warner Bros. has yet to determine when Fantastic Beasts 3 shoot will resume. So far, Fantastic Beasts 3 is just the latest in a long list of movies and TV series whose production is on hiatus for the current health emergency. Since the coronavirus situation doesn’t seem ready to end soon, expect this list to grow day by day.

Fantastic Beasts 3 will see the return of Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore and Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald. Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, and Katherine Waterston will return; as Credence, Queenie Goldstein, Jacob Kowalski, and Tina Goldstein respectively.

David Yates will return behind the camera to direct Fantastic Beasts 3, while Harry Potter creator J. K. Rowling is working on the script together with Steve Kloves. David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves, as well as Lionel Wigram, and Tim Lewis will produce the movie along with executive producers Neil Blair, Danny Cohen, Josh Berger, and Courtenay Valenti.
