Exclusive Preview: Suicide Squad #49 Gives Rick Flag a Chance For Revenge

For years, Rick Flag served as the field leader of the Suicide Squad, and followed the orders of Amanda Waller. Recently, Flag broke away from the team to pursue his own mission. However, things have gone downhill for Waller in his absence. One of Waller’s enemies has spirited her away and implanted one of Task Force X’s brain bombs in her head. Flag and the Squad have a new mission to retrieve her. Unfortunately for Waller, Flag has confirmed what he always suspected. She allowed him to languish in military prison in order to force him onto the Suicide Squad.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Suicide Squad #49, Rob Williams and artist Diogenes Neves flashback in time to the end of Flag’s distinguished military career. Apparently Flag felt that he had no choice but to disobey orders. Sadly, Flag’s unit was still lost in battle. He has spent years trying to atone for his perceived mistakes. Now, Flag believes that Waller may have set up his unit as well. If so, she may have a very short future ahead of her…amusing she keeps her head!
