Last December, Mera was at Aquaman’s side is the sea king’s blockbuster movie. But in the upcoming Mera: Tidebreaker graphic novel, the future queen of Atlantis is stepping into the spotlight. Danielle Paige and artist Stephen Byrne are teaming up for this graphic novel, which will re-imagine Mera and Arthur’s story.
Mera: Tidebreaker is the first book from the new DC Ink imprint, and it’s an out of continuity story that stands alone. DC has released a new trailer for the book, which finds Mera and her people under Atlantean oppression. Mera takes it upon herself to save the kingdom of Xebel by assassinating the Atlantean prince, Arthur. However, Mera’s murderous plan may be easier said than done, especially after she starts falling for Arthur.

When the Xebellian military plots to overthrow Atlantis and break free of its oppressive regime, Mera seizes the opportunity to take control of her own destiny by assassinating Arthur Curry—the long-lost prince and heir to the kingdom of Atlantis. But her mission gets sidetracked when Mera and Arthur unexpectedly fall in love.
