Exclusive Preview: Avengers: No Road Home #9

Night has fallen on the entire universe. Al Ewing, Mark Waid, and Jim Zub’s Avengers: No Road Home has put Nyx, the Queen of Night, in a position to thrust existence back into eternal darkness. Nyx has already slaughtered the Gods of Olympus and defeated the Immortal Hulk. Now, only a ragtag team of Avengers stand between Nyx and the end of everything. Hercules, Scarlet Witch, Rocket Raccoon, Vision, Hawkeye, and Voyager are in for the fight of their lives. Fortunately, they have another ally on their side…Conan the Barbarian?

Robert E. Howard’s iconic character has followed the Avengers back to their own time to finish the war with Nyx. Now, the penultimate battle has shifted to Euphoria, the Wishing World. Euphoria holds the last piece of Nyx’s soul, and her choice may save the universe or doom it forever.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Avengers: No Road Home #9, artist Paco Medina depicts the solution to Euphoria’s dilemma. The sentient planet forces each of the Avengers, and even Nyx, to truthfully share their desires. However, Conan’s impassioned response to Vision’s desire may prove to be the key. Vision wants to die, because he thinks it makes him human and mortal. Conan has a reality check for his new ally, and his words are even inspiring. The only thing that would make it better is if someone asked “Conan, what is best in life?”

Here’s the official description from Marvel: “THE ALL-NEW WEEKLY AVENGERS EVENT CONTINUES! On Euphoria, the Wishing World, the Avengers come face-to-face with their own desires…as Nyx finds the path to the ultimate power!”
