This November, Marvel is celebrating its far off future era, 2099, with a series of variant covers. Several of the new Marvel 2099 covers are featuring heroes who were never previously a part of the line. 80 years from now, a new heroine will take up the mantle of Captain Marvel. And it looks like she’s a big Carol Danvers fan.
Superhero Hype is proud to debut Terry and Rachel Dodson’s Marvel 2099 variant cover for Captain Marvel #12. Captain Marvel 2099’s costume incorporates a few elements from Danvers’ Ms. Marvel outfit and her current Captain Marvel look. However, it’s unclear if the new heroine is anyone we’ve met before.

Captain Marvel 2099 doesn’t actually fit into the story of the issue, which kicks off a brand new story.
