Exclusive Preview: X-Force #5

Last year, Marvel’s mutants declared Krakoa to be the new mutant homeland. However, in X-Force #1, Charles Xavier was brutally assassinated by a previously unknown human faction. That same group also captured Domino and removed the skin from half of her body. Domino was eventually rescued, and Xavier was also resurrected. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a shadow war in play.

Wolverine, Kid Omega, and Domino are the key field members of the new X-Force, while Jean Grey, Sage, and Beast provide intelligence from Krakoa. But in the team’s first official mission, human terrorists disabled the teleportation gates just as the X-Force field team went through. Domino never made it off of Krakoa, and only part of Kid Omega and Wolverine’s bodies materialized on the other side of the portal!

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for X-Force #5, Benjamin Percy and artist Joshua Cassara show us the aftermath. Wolverine is barely alive, and Kid Omega appears to be dead. There may be resurrection protocols in place, but those takes hours or even days. For now, only Domino can stop the anti-mutant terrorists. She’s also looking for a little payback for what they did to her earlier in the series.

Here’s the official description from Marvel.

“DEADLY CHOICES CARRY DARK CONSEQUENCES!

First, Domino and Forge have to pick up the pieces as the team faces a major setback! Then, Beast takes matters into his own hands when a piece of new technology threatens the safety of the nation.”
