First Look at DC’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #1

Kara Zor-El is embarking on a new solo adventure this summer. And now, DC is giving readers their first look at what to expect. The publisher has revealed a new preview for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow ahead of its debut next month.

Originally announced back in March, Woman of Tomorrow finds Kara in the midst of an existential crisis. It’s not hard to see why–after all, she was sent to Earth to look after her cousin, Kal-El, who went on to become Earth’s strongest defender. And ever since she awoke from suspended animation all those years ago, she’s been living in Superman’s shadow. But that all changes in the new series’ first issue, when a strange alien girl seeks out Kara and asks her to avenge her decimated world.

This latest preview finally peels back the curtain on Kara’s impending journey. Wherever planet she’s headed to, it looks like her powers won’t be of any use to her, as the world revolves around a red sun. Regardless, she still knows how to fight the old-fashioned way. And thankfully, she’s getting some extra help from her super-powered canine, Krypto.
