The heroes of the DC Universe will once again tangle with the undead in a pair of new series arriving just in time for Halloween. DC has just announced that two new titles, Task Force Z and DC vs. Vampires, are hitting stores this fall.
Task Force Z is an ongoing series that picks up after the events of A-Day (Arkham Day), which saw several hundred Arkham Asylum inmates killed in a poison gas bomb attack. However, some of these victims are about to get a second chance among the living. With a “mysterious benefactor” calling the shots, this new team includes zombified versions of Bane, Man-Bat, Arkham Knight, Sundowner, and Mr. Bloom. The leader of the team is someone with his own resurrection experience: Jason Todd, a.k.a. Red Hood.
Writer Matthew Rosenberg is working on Task Force Z alongside artist Eddy Barrows. Check out Barrows’ cover for the first issue below.

Additionally, Rosenberg is collaborating with co-writer James Tynion IV on DC vs. Vampires, and the premise is exactly as straightforward as its title implies. Over the course of 12 issues, the Justice League will face off against a secret army of bloodsuckers. And as they continue their fight, the heroes’ ability to trust one another will be tested. Otto Schmidt is handling the artwork for the series, and you can view his cover for the first issue below.
The first issues of Task Force Z and DC vs. Vampires will both be released on Tuesday, October 26.
