Months ago, the Black Winter showed the mighty Thor exactly how he was going to die. At some point in the Odinson’s future, Thanos will use Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir, to hold the Infinity Stones before slaying Asgard’s All-father. At the time, Thanos was still dead. However, the Mad Titan recently returned in the Eternals series, and Thor’s dark future is still on track.
Additionally, Thor has been troubled by Mjölnir. For reasons that have yet to be explained, Thor can now barely lift his own hammer. Regardless, Loki and other unworthy individuals can now pick up Mjölnir with ease. Thor has also been forced to question whether he is still worthy of his power. That’s why he’s abandoned Mjölnir at Avengers Mountain on Earth.
In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Thor #16, writer Donny Cates and artist Michele Bandini revisit Thor’s vision of the future. This time, we also see an extended version of Thor’s impending demise.

Here’s the official description from Marvel.
“REVELATIONS, PART TWO
Thor has only known two things, being a warrior and wielding a hammer. But he is realizing that in order to be the best ruler of Asgard that he can be, he must give up those two things. Who is Thor without them? And hostilities between Thor and Odin reach a boiling point as ‘Revelations’ continues to uproot Thor’s entire world!“
