Doctor Stephen Strange is dead! A villain from Strange’s past orchestrated a plot to kill Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme, leaving the world vulnerable to mystic attack. Thanks to a spell placed years ago, Stephen’s past self briefly came to the present and solved his own murder. He also managed to temporarily resurrect his older self. However, Death did not relinquish her claim on Stephen, and he died once again. Now, there’s a new Sorcerer Supreme: Clea! And in Strange #1, Clea has officially taken the mantle from her late husband.
In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Strange #1, writer Jed Mackay and artist Marcelo Ferreira find Clea receiving a visitor at the Sanctum Sanctorum. But Doctor Doom isn’t just making a social call. He wants the rank of Sorcerer Supreme for himself, and he doesn’t recognize Clea’s claim to the mantle. This is Clea’s first real test in the role. But as Dormammu’s niece and the ruler of the Dark Dimension, Clea has plenty of powers to call upon for this potential battle.
Alternate cover by Stanley “Artgerm” Lau.
