Dynamite Entertainment has released an official trailer for The Wheel of Time: The Great Hunt, the next chapter in its comic book adaptation of Robert Jordan’s fantasy novel series.
The Great Hunt is the second novel of the Wheel of Time saga, and Dynamite‘s latest adaptation. Scripted by Rik Hoskin, the new monthly series was meticulously adapted from Jordan’s original text. Artist Marcio Abreu and colorist Vinicus Andrade undertook the daunting challenge of visually translating the beloved saga.

The Wheel of Time is perhaps best known through the Prime Video streaming series. However, Dynamite has been publishing comics based on the fantasy novels since 2010. Thus far, the publisher has adapted only the first of Jordan’s novels, The Eye of the World.
What is The Wheel of Time: The Great Hunt about?
Picking up from ending of the first novel, The Great Hunt finds Rand and his compatriots hunting for the Horn of Valere. An artifact of great power, the Horn is believed to have the power to summon great heroes to the one who sounds it. The Horn is also said to be needed to begin the fabled Last Battle between Light and Dark.
The first issue, subtitled “In The Shadows,” focuses on the Dark One and the gathering of their Darkfiend followers. The Dark One challenges them to find the new Dragon that has been born into the world. Unless the Dark One can severe the connection between the Dragon and the light, their plans may be undone for all time.
The Wheel of Time: The Great Hunt #1 releases on November 15, 2023 from Dynamite Entertainment. The issue features cover art by by Mel Rubi and Jordan Gunderson, plus a photo variant cover taken from the streaming series.
