Archie Comics has released a first-look preview for Sabrina the Teenage Witch Holiday Special #1, which arrives in comic shops this December.
Revealed exclusively by The Beat, the first look inside Sabrina the Teenage Witch Holiday Special #1 is comprised of three uncolored preview pages from “The Longest Night” — a new story by Kelly Thompson, Veronica Fish, and Andy Fish. Set during the Winter Solstice, “The Longest Night” takes place in the same continuity as Thompson and the Fishes’ Sabrina the Teenage Witch series from 2019.
The holiday one-shot also teams Danielle Paige with Veronica Johnson for “A Very Spellman Solstice,” a backup story starring Sabrina Spellman’s aunts, Hilda and Zelda, during their younger days. Both stories are colored by Matt Herms and lettered by Jack Morelli. The issue features a main cover by Veronica Fish, as well as a variant cover by Laura Braga.

“First, in ‘The Longest Night,’ at Sabrina’s magic boarding school, she and her friends work together on the longest night of the year to save their friend enthralled by a dark and clever Beast, impossible to kill in his own world, and difficult to kill in our own,” it continues. “Then, in ‘A Very Spellman Solstice,’ a flash backstory shows young Zelda and Hilda breaking tradition to go to a school dance, but when Hilda joins forces with one of the ghosts of Solstice past, it curses their night out. Writer Kelly Thompson and artists Veronica and Andy Fish return for another bewitching Sabrina story, along with the team of writer Danielle Paige and artist Veronica Johnson for a festive flashback story!”
Sabrina the Teenage Witch Holiday Special #1 goes on sale Wednesday, December 13 from Archie Comics. The pre-order cutoff date is Monday, November 20.
