Titan Comics has confirmed it will be launching a new series starring the Fifteenth Doctor on Free Comic Book Day 2024. The new series will also mark the 10th anniversary of Doctor Who stories published under the Titan Comics imprint.
The new series will be written by Dan Watters. Described as a “master of sci-fi and fantasy,” Watters is best known for his work on Marvel’s Loki comics and the Sandman Universe series House of Whispers and Lucifer. An artist for the book has yet to be announced, however, Titan Comics has released a photo cover for the Free Comic Book Day special, which can be seen below.
Details regarding the new comic series are scarce beyond its premiere date. It will star the Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and his latest companion, Ruby Sunday (Millie GIbson). Both actors are scheduled to make their premiere appearances in the 2023 Doctor Who Christmas special, The Church on Ruby Road.
Doctor Who Series to Continue Titan Comics Tradition
Series editor Jake Devine is excited about the new series and the anniversary of Doctor Who at Titan Comics. “It feels like we’ve been waiting for this new era forever,” Devine said. “We’ve got an incredible story to tell from a fresh creative team with a spectacular vision. I can’t wait for fans to get stuck in!”
This new series will continue a tradition of quality Doctor Who comics under Titan Comics’ aegis. The publisher has released a number of series, spanning the length of the Doctor’s considerable career. Most of these comics focused upon the current incarnation of the Doctor at the time of publication. However, Titan Comics also published a number of retro series, based around the Doctors of the classic era.
Free Comic Book Day 2024 takes place on Saturday, May 4.
