DC’s Dreamer Leads a New Suicide Squad Series in 2024

DC has announced Suicide Squad: Dream Team, a new ongoing series led by Arrowverse original Nia Nal/Dreamer.

Per DC, Suicide Squad: Dream Team launches in March 2024 from writer Nicole Maines (who played Dreamer on The CW’s Supergirl) and artists Eddy Barrows and Eber Ferreira. Spinning out of Titans: Beast World, the series sees Amanda Waller form an all-new Task Force X with Dreamer as its centerpiece. The hero’s new teammates include Harley Quinn, Bizarro, Clock King, Black Alice, and Deadeye.

Suicide Squad: Dream Team #1 features a main cover by Barrows and Ferreira, which will also be available as a foil variant. Furthermore, artists Riccardo Federici, Sweeney Boo, and Gleb Melnikov provide their own respective variant covers. In addition to these covers, DC has revealed a collection of character sketches by Barrows. Check all that out below:

What to expect from Suicide Squad: Dream Team

“To Amanda Waller, metahumans are the greatest threat to world safety, and she isn’t above ruthlessly using them to solve that problem,” an official synopsis for Dream Team reads. “Waller sees Dreamer, DC’s precog/dream-walking Super Hero, as a key piece in eliminating that threat, recruiting her for this latest version of the Suicide Squad…” The formation of this new Task Force X is but a part of Waller’s larger ambition to seize complete control of the DC Universe amid the chaos of Beast War.

“I’m really excited to be working with Eddy and Eber to bring Dreamer into this pivotal time in the DC Universe,” Maines said. “This is a very different space from what she’s used to, and where we’re used to seeing her; dealing with Amanda Waller and this new Suicide Squad is going to force her to decide what kind of hero she wants to be, and what she is willing to sacrifice to save the future.”

Suicide Squad: Dream Team #1 goes on sale March 12, 2024 from DC.
