Mark Russell and Ben Caldwell’s satirical DC limited series Prez is returning as a young-adult graphic novel titled Prez: Setting a Dangerous President.
Per DC, Prez: Setting a Dangerous President arrives in comic shops and bookstores this June. The 184-page softcover graphic novel collects all six issues of Prez (2015) by Russell, Caldwell, and Dominike “Domo” Stanton. The book also includes an all-new original story by Russell and Caldwell, plus a short story from Catwoman: Election Night #1 (2016) and the original Prez sneak peek released as part of the DCYou publishing initiative in 2015.

What is Prez: Setting a Dangerous President about?
Russell and Caldwell’s Prez launched in June 2015 as a re-imagining of the 1973-1974 DC series of the same name by Joe Simon and Jerry Grandenetti. The six-part relaunch concluded in December 2015. A trade paperback collection titled Prez: Corndog-in-Chief subsequently released in February 2016. The National Cartoonist Society awarded Prez the honor of Best Comic Book at the 2016 Reuben Awards.
“Prez: Setting a Dangerous President introduces readers to fast-food worker Beth Ross, against the backdrop of a national meltdown and the 2046 presidential elections,” an official synopsis for the new YA graphic novel edition reads.
“Due to a hilarious combination of events and a video of Beth getting her hair caught in a deep fryer, the 19-year-old viral sensation known as ‘Corndog Girl’ becomes the youngest commander-in-chief in United States history,” it continues. “In a nation where corporations can run for office, the poor are used as human billboards, and tacos are delivered by drone, is the social-media sensation ready for politics, and is politics ready for her?”
Prez: Setting a Dangerous President goes on sale Tuesday, June 4 from DC.
