“We’re thrilled to see Ranger fans worldwide jumping into comic books for the first time with THE RETURN!” BOOM! Studios President of Publishing & Sales Filip Sablik sakd. “MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS history is being made with the amazing team of Amy Jo, Matt, Nico, Francesco, and Ed and we are so excited for everyone to experience their fresh reimagining of the characters we all know and love!”

What is MMPR: The Return about?

Original Pink Ranger Amy Jo Johnson pens MMPR: The Return with co-writer Matt Hotson. The four-issue limited series teams the writing duo with artist Nico Leon, colorist Francesco Segala, color assistant Gloria Martinelli, and letterer Ed Dukeshire.

Set decades after the events of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television show, The Return takes place in an alternate universe where our heroes defeated Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd. This victory was a pyrrhic one, however, and it prompted the Rangers to go their separate ways.

22 years after their disbandment, the remaining Rangers reunite to “mourn the losses of beloved friends, but Zack and Billy have some unexpected information to share: Jason — the Red Ranger, who has long been operating as a lone vigilante — has disappeared.”

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return #1 is on sale now from BOOM! Studios. The second printing arrives on Wednesday, March 6.
