Superhero Hype’s Best Amazon Toy and Collectibles Deals for Aug 7

Movies and restaurants may have come to a standstill, but the toy industry keeps cranking things out. And with the family stuck at home, they’re going to need some new playthings, much like the Emperor Ming. (With less hot hail, obviously.) In this ongoing series, Superhero Hype takes a look at some of the better deals Amazon.com has running as of publication time. Please note that all deals are subject to change or sell out at any time based on supply and demand.

Star Wars The Black Series Zorii Bliss Toy 6-inch Scale The Rise of Skywalker Collectible Figure

It’s a Keri Russell Star Wars figure! Remove the helmet visor to reveal human eyes that once cared for Poe Dameron. Before he did whatever it was that made her want to kill him circa Rise of Skywalker. Boasting one of the best costume designs in the sequel trilogy, Zorii comes with her two space flintlocks and holsters. Also, she’s 18% off, which says that not enough collectors know how cool Keri Russell is.

Hasbro Legends Series 12″ Deadpool Action Figure From Uncanny X-Force Comics with Blaster/Weapon Accessories & 30 Points Of Articulation (Amazon Exclusive)

Sadly, Marvel Legends discontinued their 12-inch line after only a few figures. Some of the best representations of the characters ever, they at least now can occasionally get found at clearance prices. Like this Amazon exclusive gray costume Deadpool. Complete with bonus head, hands, and an arsenal of weapons, he’s the Merc With a Markdown. Formerly $49.99, his price lowered to $40.76. But don’t tell him he’s a closeout.

PLAYMOBIL Ghostbusters II Raymond Stantz Playmogram 3D Figure

Listen — do you smell something? Maybe not, but it’s the eyes that get dazzled with this Playmobil figure of the Ghostbusters‘ resident tinkerer. Using a smartphone and a simple prism illusion, generate a 3-D holographic ghost. Then watch it get sucked into the trap. For $9.32, that’s a lot of fun feature in a figure.

Mattel DC Comics Multiverse Signature Collection Wonder Woman Tv Series Wonder Woman

The only modern action feature of Lynda Carter’s TV iteration of Wonder Woman! Because Mattel lost the DC toy rights, this figure now goes for 2/3 the original price, for a far more reasonable $17.96 tag. All the world’s been waiting for that, and the power it possesses.

Mega Construx Destiny Hive Horde Attack Building Set

Destiny‘s day in the sun as the hottest game may be done. But this LEGO-compatible dropship set that includes one Warlock with rocket launcher, and three aliens that look half-xenomorph and half-Chitauri, feels well worth the minuscule $12.15 price tag for any Mega Construx builder or collector.

Sideshow Buffy The Vampire Slayer Exclusive Willow 12″ Figure

Sideshow’s toys run in the hundreds of dollars nowadays, but this ’90s effort from them can still fetch a nicely ’90s price. This Sideshow exclusive Willow (Alyson Hannigan) from TV’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer, part of a limited run of 750, costs a mere $48.99. Complete with exclusive backpack accessory, plus Amy the rat and a tranquiliser gun, this figure might make you wonder how toy prices got so crazy high in the decades since. Take advantage before the seller figures out they could go way higher.

McFarlane Toys Building Sets -The Walking Dead TV Daryl Dixon with Chopper Building Set

McFarlane Toys doesn’t really do the LEGO-style sets any more, but when they did, this little The Walking Dead diorama was a perfect small showcase. Daryl on the bike, a walker, and a stretch of highway make a complete scene that adds a layer of grit to the usual building blocks. Now $10.99, it’s a perfect price point. Just don’t get too hooked, as the rest of the sets might be harder to find. But for people who only need one, this is the one to get.

Master Replicas Golden Compass: Lee Scoresby’s Aeronaut Balloon Playset with Figure

Now that His Dark Materials season 1 has hit Blu-ray, maybe it’s time to look back and compare it to The Golden Compass feature film. Or maybe not, but here’s the deal — this airship set includes the only 3-3/4 inch Sam Elliott action figure ever made. So while Lin-Manuel Miranda may have taken over the Lee Scoresby role, this set allows displayers to make dioramas in which Elliott calls their Star Wars figures “a special kind of stupid.” Incidentally, he never actually said that in The Big Lebowski, but why let accuracy get in the way of a good meme?

LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader’s Castle 75251 Building Kit includes TIE Fighter, Darth Vader Minifigures, Bacta Tank and more (1,060 Pieces) – (Amazon Exclusive)

As seen in Rogue One, Darth Vader’s Mustafar headquarters looks as angular and intimidating as his helmet. Now, go inside like never before, and build the meditation chamber, TIE fighter hangar, bacta tank, roof turret and more. LEGO doesn’t do discounts much, so the fact that this Amazon exclusive set is still available AND $8.68 off? Well, the Force is strong in this one.

Avengers Marvel Endgame Red Infinity Gauntlet Electronic Fist Roleplay Toy with Lights and Sounds

There won’t be any finger-snapping with this techno-gauntlet; it’s locked into fist position. But for only $18.84, it makes a great augmentation to any Iron Man costume. Plus it emits an awesome “BWOMMMMMMM!” sound along with electronic lighting effects. And unlike high-end replicas, this is meant to be worn for fun and action play.
