Take heed, evildoers and movie fans: Batman is coming to Waukegan.
Scenes for the fifth film in the superhero franchise, called “Batman Begins,” will be shot in August on the Amstutz Expressway, officials with the Illinois Film Office and Waukegan have confirmed.
The Amstutz, which runs about 2 miles from South Genesee Street to East Greenwood Avenue, will be the site of chase sequences for the action movie, said Bob Hudgins, assistant director of the Illinois Film Office.”
