NECA’s Newest Alien 40th Anniversary Action Figure Positively Glows

Frequently, one of the main points of an Alien movie is that a xenomorph is lurking in the dark, just waiting to strike and eat. And there’s nothing most people can do about it, because it’s strong, fast, bleeds acid, and blends in to dark corridors full of hanging cables. But if a person could see it coming, would it be any less scary? Not if this glow-in-the-dark Alien action figure indicates anything. It’s the latest in NECA‘s 40th anniversary Alien line. Which, much to the delight of collectors, lasted way past the actual 40th anniversary.

Intended as a Comic-Con exclusive, the glowing variant of the original film’s “Big Chap” xenomorph hits Walmarts and NECA’s online store beginning July 23rd. And like the regular version which currently appears in many Walmart electronics sections, it includes the full life cycle. Egg, facehugger, chestburster, and adult.

The glow-in-the-dark alien joins previous glowing versions of a Predator, Terminator, Robocop, and an upcoming ninja turtle. If the company ever settles the rights to Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees merchandise, fans need them next. As a special bonus, the Alien packaging also glows.

Take a look in the gallery below to see the glowing effects in action. Will the Big Chap shine up your shelf? Let us know in comments.
