Hot Toys Making The Mandalorian’s Digitally De-Aged Luke Skywalker

The biggest surprise of the second season of The Mandalorian will get immortalized in plastic at last. The digitally de-aged Luke Skywalker, performed by Mark Hamill and a body double, showed up to save the day. And in a divisive move, he took Grogu, the adorable puppet “Baby Yoda” costar of the show, with him. Yes, the kid will now get proper Jedi training. But it separates him from his de facto adopted “stepdad,” and towards a future in which Luke’s Jedi school is burned to the ground by Kylo Ren.

Regardless, most fans felt happy to see a full-on Jedi Luke in action. Thanks to the time gap between the original Star Wars trilogy and the new, we never really saw much between Luke becoming a Jedi and retiring from same. And Hot Toys have remarkably captured the digitally de-aged look. For an extra touch of realism, this figure deploys the moving eyeball feature that the company hasn’t used lately.

De-aged Luke comes with Grogu, whom collectors can never get enough of. But spring for the deluxe version to get a battle damaged Darktrooper bust with light-up effects. In addition, an extra-limited version available in certain markets includes a hologram of Moff Gideon’s cruiser.

As of this writing, preorders have yet to go online. But keep refreshing Sideshow Collectibles’ Hot Toys Star Wars page, and they should show up later today or tomorrow. Expect a price tag around $315 or so for the deluxe, and $250-ish for the regular. Check out the gallery below for better images.
