Star Wars Hot Toys Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati Make a Scary Team

That’s not a behind-the-scenes photo of Ray Stevenson and Ivanna Sakhno as Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati on the set of Ahsoka, above. It is, in fact, the incredibly lifelike pair of Star Wars Hot Toys figures just revealed.

Stevenson, sadly, is no longer with us, but look into his figure’s movable eyes to instantly be reminded of his onscreen presence. Sakhno’s Shin figure, with a slight hint of Pris from Blade Runner about her, might legitimately be called more human than human for the face sculpt on her.

Mystery Saber-Slingers

Are they Sith? They deny it. Jedi? Not exactly. They can use the Force, and swing a lightsaber with great skill, but appear to be for sale to the highest — or most convenient — bidder. Will we ever know how Skoll planned to bring an end to the cycle of wars in the stars? Let’s hope so, somehow. But even if Ahsoka the series can’t go there any more, these fancy figures can help you imagine where the story could go next.

The Baylan Skoll figure features “newly developed head sculpt with separate rolling eyeballs to adjust the eyesight, meticulously crafted outfit and cloak, form-fitting under-suit, LED light-up lightsaber, interchangeable lightsaber blades emulating the weapon in motion, and a display base.”

Shin Hati features a “newly developed head sculpt with separate rolling eyeballs to adjust the eyesight, skillfully tailored outfit and armor pieces, a cloak, LED light-up lightsaber, interchangeable lightsaber blades emulating the weapon in motion, a probe droid, holoprojector, and a display base!”

As of this writing, neither figure is up for preorder yet, but expect to pay around $280 apiece if recent Hot Toys prices are anything to go by. Keep checking the Hot Toys page at Sideshow’s website for further updates.
