Most toy companies make holiday-themed variants these days, but it’s cool to have one that’s in canon — and can be displayed at least two different ways. Perhaps thanks to Chucky‘s short stature, his box leaves room for a lot of accessories. As seen on a seasonal episode of his TV show, this NECA version of the Good Guys doll possessed by serial killer Charles Lee Ray is in a Santa-inspired mood. But do you want to display him ready to give…or receive?
Chuck out the Gifts
Put a Christmas sweater (and a clean head) on our Chucky, and he can enjoy cocoa and cookies by the fire just like any other kid. He’s happy to receive seasonal greetings, or so it appears. However, when he’s ready to give out his particular brand of mayhem, remove the sweater to reveal blood-soaked overalls, switch out the head and the Santa hat for bloody variants, and put that big chainsaw in his hands. The blade of the power tool looks surprisingly clean, but he comes with two pairs of safety glasses, depending how much blood splatter you want to see on those.
The Chucky TV series offers a ton of toy possibilities, exploring as it does the now-canonical notion that Chucky can be in multiple bodies at once. We’ve seen a good Chucky, a Marlon Brando Apocalypse Now Chucky, a terminally ill aging Chucky, and many more. Hell, in recent episodes we’ve even seen Charles Lee Ray in human form — could a Brad Dourif figure be in the cards? He’s earned one, and with his recent retirement from all roles except Chucky, deserves commemoration that way. We also need a figure of one of the many Devon Sawa characters on the show, all of whom fall victim to the deadly doll eventually.
Holiday Chucky will not only be available by Christmas; he should even be in stores by Halloween! September is the estimated shipping date.
