LEGO Gives The Legend of Zelda a 2-in-1 Collector Set

Better start hoarding those Rupees. The Legend of Zelda is finally coming to LEGO, and unlike the Mario sets, it’s in scale with every other minifig-based set. Plus, if you’re a serious fan, you’re going to want to buy two of these. That’s because The Great Deku Tree, which appears differently in different games, can be built two different ways, with different play features on each form. Are you a Breath of the Wild person, and Ocarina of Time person, or both? How many sets do you want to drop $500 on?

According to LEGO, the Breath of the Wild version includes, “the Great Deku Tree adorned in vibrant pink blossoms, accompanied by the iconic Master Sword pedestal. Notably, this rendition boasts an engaging feature: the ability to animate the tree’s expressive eyebrows and mouth, adding depth to the build.”

The Ocarina of Time version displays “a lush green foliage-adorned Great Deku Tree. This version includes Link’s House, a pivotal element tied to the Ocarina of Time narrative, adding an extra layer of nostalgia and authenticity to the set. It’s worth mentioning that regardless of which version you choose to build, you will have the ability to construct both the Master Sword pedestal and Link’s House as smaller models.” It also “boasts a captivating mechanism: when activated, its mouth opens, revealing a cleverly designed Skulltula (a spider-like enemy from the games) that descends into its depths.”

Furthermore, both versions allow you to build Link’s house and the Master Sword display. Four minifigs include Link and Zelda in blue, and Link and young Link in green. Buildable characters include Hestu the Korok, several smaller Koroks, Deku Babas, Navi the Fairy, the Deku Sprout, and that Skulltula.

Expect the set to arrive online and at LEGO stores starting May 28th, and Sept 1 everywhere else. Make sure your card has a link to some deep pockets.
