In case you true believers may have forgotten, it’s Spider-Man day! Stan Lee and Steve Ditko’s webslinger got his start with Amazing Fantasy #15, which made its debut back in August 1962. That issue actually published on August 10, but fans usually celebrate his arrival on the first of the month.
Marvel didn’t waste any time commemorating the special day, as it posted a new video highlighting his best costumes. The video shows the hero’s keen fashion sense, which “deserves some recognition.” It’s a pretty well animated retrospective, and may even stir up a little nostalgia with some fans.
The retrospective kicks off with Classic Suit that started it all with Amazing Fantasy, complete with underarm webbing and the face mask to hide Peter Parker’s identity. It also notes the update to the suit, which came in 1966, with small tweaks like improved eye pieces and the removal of the underarm webbing.
Other favorites that fans will notice in the video include the Symbiote Suit/Black costume, the Iron Spider Suit, and the Superior Spider-Man Suit.

Although technically not Spider-Man, as you’ve got Ben Reilly’s Scarlet Spider suit, I’d say Kaine’s Scarlet Spider suit deserves a shout out too! pic.twitter.com/dddxOSlFvD

No matter which way fans celebrate, Spider-Man day should be celebrated. It’s a good day to get caught up on films like Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. For that matter, a lot of these token suits can be found in Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man for PlayStation 4. In fact, that amazing game is also on sale for $20 at a number of retailers, including Amazon.
