John Boyega Admits His Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Script Hit Ebay

Earlier this week, J.J. Abrams revealed that a Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker script wound up on eBay. It turns out the actor responsible for losing it has confessed. John Boyega, who portrays Finn, recently stopped by Good Morning America. During his interview, Boyega came clean about what happened.

“Guys, it was me,” said Boyega. “It was actually from my apartment. I was moving apartments, and I left the script under my bed. I was like, ‘I will leave it under my bed and when I wake up the next morning, I will take it and then move.’ But then my boys came over and we started partying a little bit. The script, it just stayed there. And a few weeks after, this cleaner comes in, finds this script and puts it in eBay for like 65 pounds (or the equivalent of $85 dollars). So the person didn’t know the true value.”

Boyega didn’t hear the end of it from his mistake.

“It was scary, I got calls from every official,” said Boyega. “Even Mickey Mouse called me, ‘What did you do?’”

Fortunately, Lucasfilm secured the script before its sale. And it appears Boyega was forgiven for his mistake. You can watch his interview below.

The latest Star Wars film, The Rise of Skywalker arrives in theaters on December 20.
