Before joining the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, John Boyega was virtually unknown. But now, his role as Finn in the sequel trilogy has propelled him into the stratosphere, and he definitely has a promising acting future ahead of him. It seems fair to say that his time in the Star Wars universe must have been a trip. And obviously, a big part of what made it so rewarding was the people who shared the journey with him.
To celebrate Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’s release, Boyega posted a new video to his Instagram page. The video starts off with him being asked about what he’s going to miss about his Star Wars experience. His answer was simple: “the people.” What followed was an assortment of behind-the-scenes footage taken over the last four years. You can check it out for yourself below.

As Boyega praises the sequel trilogy’s cast and crew, clips fly by of him palling around with his co-stars on film sets and during promotional events. Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, and Kelly Marie Tran are prominently featured. Plus, we get a few glimpses of the new stars embracing original trilogy headliners Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher. Boyega also singled out the work of directors J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson. Additionally, there are a few clips of him hanging out with Naomie Ackie, who plays Jannah in The Rise of Skywalker. It looks like the two bonded while preparing for their orbak-riding scene in the new film.
“I do feel like I’ve been making the most expensive student film with my classmates,” Boyega remarked.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now playing in theaters everywhere.
