Dark Horse Will Adapt the Original Predator Script In New Comic

The original Predator movie is still a classic three decades after its release. Now, Dark Horse Comics wants to tell a different side of the original story. Dark Horse has announced that it will publish a five-issue miniseries: Predator: The Original Screenplay.

James E. Thomas and John C. Thomas wrote the original Predator script; which was called Hunters at the time. Jeremy Barlow (Alien vs. Predator: Thicker Than Blood and Star Wars: Empire) is adapting the script to comic form.  Artist Patrick Blaine (Star Wars: Empire) and inker Andy Owens (Tomb Raider) are also on board for the series.

Predator: The Original Screenplay will still have some elements in common with the film, according to its official description:

“A team of military specialists are on a rescue mission in the jungles of Central America. The details of the mission are classified, but the team soon uncovers a trail of lies and deceit. Something is observing them — tracking their every move. The hunt has begun!”

This series joins Dark Horse’s previously released “The Original Screenplay” stories, including Alien 3 and Alien.

Predator: The Original Screenplay #1 will comic stores on Wednesday, June 10.
