It’s been nearly two years since Deadpool 2 hit theaters, but Josh Brolin just dropped a previously unseen bit of behind-the-scenes footage via his Instagram page. The new clip shows Brolin rehearsing for one of the film’s action sequences. You can check it out for yourself below.

The video shows Brolin, armed with Cable’s signature rifle, sparring with Deadpool 2’s assistant stunt coordinator, Jackson Spidell, who was also Ryan Reynolds’ stunt double. It looks like Brolin and Spidell were mapping out the choreography for the Ice Box prison breakout, where Cable and Deadpool first meet. As Brolin notes in his caption, the movie’s stunt crew worked tirelessly to create memorable fight scenes.
The last time moviegoers saw Cable, he gave up returning to his family in the future in favor of staying in the present as one of Wade Wilson’s newest allies. It’s possible that Brolin’s time-traveling mutant to return in Deadpool 3. Reynolds recently confirmed that he’s met with Marvel Studios about the sequel. Presumably, the Merc with a Mouth will make even more fourth-wall busting jokes about Brolin’s other Marvel role as Thanos.
