The war of words between Ray Fisher and Joss Whedon has been generally one-sided, since the latter has yet to respond to the former’s allegations of unprofessional behavior on the Justice League set. Regardless, the drama isn’t coming to an end anytime soon. Fisher addressed his beef with Whedon during a virtual appearance at today’s Justice Con event. When the director’s name came up, he used the opportunity to share more about where he currently stands in the fight to hold Whedon accountable for his actions.
Fisher started by reiterating that his original comments, which he posted on Twitter earlier this month, are the truth. But he may have surprised some fans when he revealed that official proceedings have begun. Proceedings to “get to the heart of everything” that happened during Justice League’s reshoots. Fortunately, Fisher’s been down this road before, and it sounds like he’s more than up to the task.
“What people may not know is that I was actually let go 10 years ago from a job for spearheading an effort to unionize employees at a job I was working at,” Fisher explained. “So I don’t play around when it comes to this kind of stuff. I didn’t mind taking that L at that point. And I don’t mind taking an L now if I have to if it gets justice for the situation as it stood.”

Fisher remains bound by a non-disclosure agreement that’s keeping him from going into too much detail about his experience. Regardless, he insists there are plenty of other Justice League crew members who want to tell similar stories. In fact, he claims to have spent “two years” asking these people if they’d be willing to come forward. They’ll just have to do so “in a confidential way” to avoid legal retribution.
“[Whedon] is probably scared, and he should be because we are going to get to the heart of everything – everything – that went down,” Fisher continued. “And if anything I said about that man is untrue, I invite him wholeheartedly to sue me for libel, to sue me for slander.”
So far, none of Fisher’s Justice League castmates have chimed in to back up his claims. A few fans probably expected Whedon to comment on the situation during a virtual Comic-Con@Home panel yesterday. Unfortunately, he backed out of this panel at the last minute.
