Magik Faces Her Demons In The New Mutants’ Latest Spot

Later this month, The New Mutants may finally head to theaters after years of delays. This may not be the best time to go to the movies, but the next generation of the X-Men are contractually obligated to get a theatrical release!

Anya Taylor-Joy’s Illyana Rasputin has the closest ties to the X-Men. In the comics and in the film, she’s the younger sister of Peter Rasputin/Colossus. However, Illyana spent most of her childhood in a hellish dimension. That’s why she returned as a demonic sorceress named Magik. It’s unclear whether Illyana’s origin will be intact in the movie. Regardless, the latest spot for the film reinforces the magic of Magik.

Game of Thrones‘ Maisie Williams co-stars in the film as Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane, with Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie/Cannonball. Additionally, Blu-Hunt is featured as Danielle Moonstar/Mirage, with Henry Zaga as Roberto da Costa/Sunspot, and Alice Braga as Cecilia Reyes.

The New Mutants will hit theaters on August 28, barring any further delays.
