Later this month, The New Mutants may finally head to theaters after years of delays. This may not be the best time to go to the movies, but the next generation of the X-Men are contractually obligated to get a theatrical release!
Anya Taylor-Joy’s Illyana Rasputin has the closest ties to the X-Men. In the comics and in the film, she’s the younger sister of Peter Rasputin/Colossus. However, Illyana spent most of her childhood in a hellish dimension. That’s why she returned as a demonic sorceress named Magik. It’s unclear whether Illyana’s origin will be intact in the movie. Regardless, the latest spot for the film reinforces the magic of Magik.
