This November, Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron will return in their building-block versions to celebrate Life Day in the upcoming The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special. For those of you who have never seen the 1978’s Star Wars Holiday Special, Life Day is the celebration of nature, family, and new life on the Wookiee planet of Kashyyyk. Yes, some of the Wookiee characters from the frequently mocked and never-rereleased TV special will return.
“It’s a celebration of the saga,” executive producer Josh Rimes said in a recent interview with USA Today. “A lot of characters will be interacting with different characters and perhaps even different versions of themselves at different ages.”

Rimes went on to add that they want to “give a wink” to the original Star Wars Holiday Special that first aired on CBS November 17, 1978. In addition, the executive producer also teased that a few Star Wars movie actors are reprising their roles. Other sources of inspiration include Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Christmas Vacation.
The story will take place after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. During their visit to a mysterious Jedi Temple, Rey and BB-8 start traveling through time and space. In their journey, they will meet like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and many more. Even though they are more than happy to talk to some of the most iconic characters from the saga, they also have to return in time for the Life Day feast with her friends on Kashyyyk.
“It’s a celebration of the saga,” Rimes added. “A lot of characters will be interacting with different characters and perhaps even different versions of themselves at different ages.”
The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special will debut on Disney+ on Nov. 17.
